Traditional Hatha Yoga
🖤 Muscle building | stretching | flexibility | breathing
Hatha-Yoga has its origin in ancient texts, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. It focuses on the energy of being. In this sense, the etymology of the term sheds more light on the universe of this discipline. In this word, "Ha" means "Sun" while "tha" means "Moon". These two opposites are found in the Yin and Yang of the Chinese tao. As a union yoga, it aims at the harmony of the person through physical exercise sessions. In this way, the union of opposites allows spiritual stabilization.
This practice involves all aspects of the human being, both physical, mental and energetic. Through the precise and rhythmic practice of postures through breathing, the practitioner develops a mastery of the body and the senses. This yoga is a real meditation in motion, perfect to let go.
The postures of Hatha Yoga have as their goal the tranquility of the body and mind. In other words, the purpose of this technique is the awakening of the mind via precise asanas. During a Hatha Yoga routine, you try to take control of your energy and mind through the control and flexibility of the body.
Hatha Yoga also relies on pranayama (breath technique) and meditation.
The benefits of such a practice are numerous both physical and mental, such as: reduction of back pain, relaxation of the body, oxygenation of the brain through breathing, improvement of blood pressure, improved stress management, reduction of sleep disorders, intense mental relaxation.
Restorative / Yin Yoga
🖤 Develop self-listening | flexibility | letting go | breathING
Popularized by Paul Grilley in the 90s, Yin Yoga is a gentle yoga. Although quite recent, this practice is inspired by ancestral yoga. Stemming from Taoist thought, the idea of Yin represents stillness and Yang movement.
An invitation to relent. Passive and gentle Yoga focused on feeling and self-awareness. These practices make it possible to release physical and mental tensions in depth with the help of a series of postures often sitting or lying down, held for a long time and combining stretching and slow movements. With its slow pace, Yin Yoga can help you reduce anxiety, stress or burnout.
Yin Yoga is a style of yoga practice that targets connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones, and even joints of the body, which are not normally heavily solicited in a more active style of asana practice.
Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to dynamic and muscular (yang) yoga styles and sport that emphasize internal warmth, as well as the lengthening and contraction of our muscles. Yin Yoga usually targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine.
Some physical & mental benefits can be felt after regular yin practice : calm (calm and balance the mind and body), reduction of stress and anxiety, improved blood circulation, improved flexibility, release of connective tissues "fascias" for better mobility and joint lubrication.
Yin Yoga & Aroma Therapy
🖤 stimulate inner life force | ENERGIZING |emotional and physical healing| relaxing
Essential oils are a product of the earth. They come directly from the plant itself and are in fact the pure essence of its earthy medicine. They possess a variety of properties that help heal emotional, mental and physical conditions and challenges in the body.
The different properties they possess act in different ways on the nervous system. Some tone the system, others calm it. This means you can use essential oils for both energizing and relaxing purposes. Some of the most common uses for essential oils are for sleep and general relaxation, stress, tension, and headaches. Also, they are used by athletes to increase respiratory capacity for preparation for exercise or recovery.
Yin yoga is a practice which particularly aims to make energy circulate freely in the body by stimulating the energy meridians. Yin aroma uses plants and acupressure to further vitalize the body. The essence of the plant is used on specific acupoints which are stimulated by massaging them with our hands.
For example, people with anxiety can reduce their anxiety by using bergamot essential oil which is super soothing by massaging the Shen Men ear point. As for surfers, they can use Lemongrass which can soothe muscle pain to release tension in the neck and shoulders by massaging the GB21 point.
